North Park is a trendy San Diego neighborhood located to the northeast of the beautiful downtown Balboa Park.  An area noted for its nightlife, shopping, and dining, residents of North Park have access to great cultural activities all throughout the year.  Living in North Park offers easy access to these activities thanks to its convenient location just west of Interstate 805.  Transportation by bus is also quick, since seven major routes run through the community, making it easy to travel to San Diego and beyond.

Real estate in North Park is mostly made up of single-family homes.  North Park has three distinct neighborhoods:  Altadena, Burlingame, and Morley Field.  Each offers various-sized homes to suit a luxury lifestyle.  North Park homes have a great location near some of San Diego’s famous recreation and entertainment.

North Park is a cultural center, and the community hosts a number of annual events for residents of all ages to enjoy.  Bird Park has free summer concerts, and the downtown area has the Ray Street Arts District, which hosts nightly gallery walks every month.  An annual holiday tradition is the community’s parade.  Residents can listen to the Lyric Opera San Diego in the newly reopened Birch North Park Theatre.  Every Thursday, North Park hosts a farmers market that has been listed as one of the top 40 in the country.  Visitors can explore over 35 vendors selling locally grown produce and flowers, gourmet food, books, crafts, and there is usually live music to accompany it all.

Shopping and dining in North Park can be found along the main streets of University Avenue and 30th Street.  Restaurants offer a whole spread of flavors, and there are several independent coffee shops as well.  An active nightlife is found in the area’s bars and clubs that cater to a diverse group.  North Park is a short drive away from some of San Diego’s hottest shopping, like Fashion Valley.  There are dozens of upscale retailers to choose from, such as Coach, Gucci, and Lacoste.  Restaurants include chains like Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen.

North Park is conveniently located near many of San Diego’s great recreational offerings.  Just minutes away is a treasure trove of arts and culture, including San Diego’s Museum of Art, Air and Space Museum, and Natural History Museum.  To watch animals in their natural habitats, the San Diego Zoo features exhibits that delights all ages.

Residents of North Park are served by the San Diego Unified School District.  The programs teach students of all grade levels.  There are also several private schools in the area. For higher education, San Diego City College is the closest campus to North Park.
